Boris Johnson raised the alarm in Downing Street when he planned to travel to Egypt to mingle with world leaders at Cop27, it is claimed.

The former prime minister is reportedly considering attending the critical summit on the climate crisis, which Rishi Sunak says he doesn't have time for.

Mr. Johnson, who last weekend dropped his bid to become prime minister again, would be there to show his support for tackling climate change.

But if he goes, it would cause a huge headache for Mr Sunak, who was heavily criticized after saying he would not go.

Mr Johnson is said to be considering taking part in what is likely to be seen as a challenge for the new Prime Minister, who only took office on Tuesday.
