Boygenius' Lucy Dacus Calls Obama a 'War Criminal' After Putting Her Song on Playlist

A track by Boygenius has received serious praise from former President Barack Obama...but bandmate Lucy Dacus isn't thrilled with that shoutout.

"Not Strong Enough" by Lucy's band - made up of fellow female artists Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker - landed a spot on BO's summer playlist...but Lucy responded to the news on Twitter on Thursday, writing "war criminal :(."

It's unclear why Lucy called the former prez — he makes annual lists like this with his favorite movies, books, and songs...and the creators are usually over the moon when their work wraps up with Obama's approval.

Others in the Boygenius ranks - according to Obama - were Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Janelle Monae, Bob Dylan, SZA, Luke Combs, Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj...safe to say that's a HUGE compliment.

For what it's worth, Lucy has been pretty outspoken about politics over the years: she's shown her support for Bernie Sanders in the past, called Donald Trump an "evil bigoted man," and Boygenius has performed in Nashville in drag, protesting anti-drag bills.
