Britney Spears said she would 'never return to the music industry' after rumors that she was planning a return to the studio surfaced last week.
The pop star was responding to US media claims that she was lining up writers -composers for a 10th studio album.
"Just so we're clear, most of the news is garbage!!!" the singer wrote on Instagram.
"They keep saying I'm turning to random people to make a new album... I'm not going back never in the music industry!!"
Some media had suggested that Julia Michaels and Charlie XCX had been approached as collaborators.
< p class="ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10">But Spears added that she only writes music for fun and also revealed that she has written more than 20 songs for other people over the course of of the last two years.
"I'm a ghostwriter and honestly, I enjoy it!!!" wrote the singer, known for hits such as Baby One More Time, Oops!... I Did It Again and Toxic.
