Scientists now believe this could be a feeling tens of billions of parents have felt for millennia .

A 3,000-year-old Bronze Age toddler shoe, dating from 888 to 781 BC, has was discovered in a river bed in North Kent.

A comforting fact is that since then at least 62 billion people have come and gone on Earth and many have probably also faced the same shoe problem that today's parents often scratch their heads.

The rare shoe in 15cm Bronze Age leather is believed to be the oldest found in the UK and was discovered by archaeologist Steve Tomlinson, 51, while mudlarking in September.
