Brook will return to England from his India tour

Surrey's Dan Lawrence has been named as his replacement, but Brook could return later in the five matches. series.

"The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this period," the Cricket Board said England and Wales.

Due to the length of the tour, England, who are currently traveling from Abu Dhabi to Hyderabad , will leave India between the second Test (Vizag, February 2-6) and the third (Rajkot, February 15-19).

The fourth Test will be held in Ranchi from February 23 to 27 with the final Test of the series in Dharamshala on March 7.

Brook was one of only three players in the Test team who also played for England in the ODI and T20 series in the West Indies, along with Rehan Ahmed and Gus Atkinson.

He made four centuries in his 12 Test matches for England, including three in the historic victory of the series in Pakistan in 2022.

< p class="" data-reactid=".vpxr49jx5g.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9">Lawrence, who is expected to arrive in India on Monday or Tuesday, will provide direct coverage for Brook in England's middle order. He played the last of his 11 Tests in 2022 , with his highest score of 91 against the West Indies at Bridgetown in March 2022.

The player of 26 years did not feature during the Ben Stokes-Brendon McCullum era, but was in the team during the Ashes as batting cover.
