Q. Our flight to Brussels was canceled on the way to the airport. BA booked us in the next morning but also canceled it. We had Rolling Stones tickets that night, so we went through Eurotunnel. It was a brilliant concert, but can we claim our unused return flight and should we be compensated?

John Linsdell, Southampton.

A reader whose flight to Brussels was suddenly canceled asks the Guru how to get his money back

A . BA says it will reimburse both flights, as it must by law. You can try a claim for compensation under rule EU-261, but the airline is almost certainly within its rights to say that your flight cancellation – caused by the last-minute restriction of take-off slots from Heathrow, she said – was an “extraordinary circumstance” and therefore did not have to pay.

Q. My husband and I are 70 and want to tackle the Menorca Coastal Path next year. We would prefer to stay in the center and be driven to the starting point each day. Can you help?

Hilary Ludbrook, Birkenhead.

A. Try Cami de Cavalls 360 (camidecavalls360.com), specialists in organizing such trips in Menorca. He will create a tailor-made itinerary. The trip should take about ten days and cover 115 miles. Good luck!
