He revealed before the Hopman Cup that he hadn't played tennis since Wimbledon. "To think I won Wimbledon is hard to believe. I can't believe I won and beat Novak, it will probably take a few days to believe it," Alcaraz said.

"Since Wimbledon I haven't touched the racket, today will be the first time. I'm a bit tired, I'm not going to lie. I had a few days off to rest a bit. I feel good at the moment. I'm here to make people happy by watching the match."
