Cheteshwar Pujara: Sussex re-sign Indian striker for 2023

The The 34-year-old has scored 1,718 points - including three double centuries - for the club this year.

More 1,000 of those runs were scored in Championship County, where Sussex finished seventh in Division Two.

"I am happy to be back with Sussex for the 2023 season," he told the club's website.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the club last season, both on and off the pitch and look forward to contributing to the growth and success of the team over the coming year."

Pujara has 96 Test caps for India, scoring 6,792 points and 51 points from five app one day international aritions.

He made his professional debut for Saurashtra in 2005 and represented Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings.

He spent time in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire - and two spells at Yorkshire - when he played in England before.
