A 10-year-old Australian boy has tragically died at his primary school in Wollongong, New South Wales, and a note has been found at the scene where paramedics couldn't save him

A chilling note left at the scene where a 10-year-old boy was found dead at his school has terrifying implications.

The local community has been in shock after a fifth year student died at his school in Wollongong, Australia, on Wednesday.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics who desperately rushed to the scene in an attempt to save him, he tragically died.

A note was also found at the scene raising concerns that the youth may have taken his own life, although its contents have not been made public.

It is believed that no other classmates or schoolchildren witnessed what happened.

It is understood that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A spokesperson for the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong reportedly said "full support" and advice would be provided after the tragedy.

They added: "Local police and health services have provided significant assistance, and there is ongoing liaison with the Ministry of Education."
