Chris Hemsworth Reveals Brother Liam Was Almost Cast For Thor: 'I Think My Audition Got Vacuumed'

Since there were already three (and counting) Spider-Men, why not a trio of Thors?

'Thor: Love and Thunder' star Chris Hemsworth has revealed his younger brother Liam Hemsworth is "almost cast" as the Marvel superhero and Asgardian god. With his older brother Luke Hemsworth already playing the actor version of Thor in "Ragnarok" and "Love and Thunder," it makes sense that Liam would be an alternate multiverse version of Chris' character.

"He was one of the first people to get the part, so I don't know, I might run into him. It'll be fun," Hemsworth told MensXP. "In this movie, [the multiverse] is not something we explore. But who knows if there's more in the future, as you say, it's opened up a whole host of options that we can head into or be taken care of. »

Hemsworth previously detailed during Wired's "autocomplete interview" his doubts about getting the role of Thor as he awaits an encore. "I think my audition sucked," Hemsworth said, citing that his younger brother was among the final five actors vying for the role. "I think that's the answer I got."

Hemsworth continued, "They were like, 'Look, he's great, but he's a little young.' My manager then said, 'Well, he's got an older brother', ie me. I came back, I re-auditioned a few times and I just had a different attitude. Maybe I had a little more motivation that my little brother took a look and I I hadn't done it. I had also done a few films between those two auditions, so I had a little more experience and confidence in what I was going to do."

The 'Thor' movies turned out to be a family affair regardless: Hemsworth shared that his 10-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son both appear in 'Love and Thunder.'

"It's really cool. They really wanted to be a part of it," Hemsworth said in an interview with Kevin McCarthy. "[Writer-director] Taika [Waititi] had his kids in there. Christian Bale had his. Natalie [Portman] also had his children. »

He added, "It felt like a unique and fun family experience. I don't want them to leave now and be child stars and actors. It was just a special experience that we all had and I loved it. They had a great time."
