Chris Pincher: Tory adviser says he regrets not coming forward sooner to stop 'groping' MP

A Tory adviser has waived his anonymity to recount how he was allegedly sexually assaulted twice by former Deputy Chief Whip Chris Pincher.

Tamworth Council Deputy Mayor Daniel Cook says the suspended MP groped him in 2005 and 2006 and regrets not coming forward sooner to stop the "predatory behavior" of Mr. Pincher.

Allegations emerged last week that Mr Pincher groped two men at a private club. He apologized for his drunken behavior at night and resigned as Deputy Chief Whip the next morning.

However, Mr Pincher has so far denied all allegations of sexual assault made against him. Responding to Mr Cook's allegations, his representatives told The Independent that "he did not behave as he claims and that Mr Cook never raised such a matter with him".

Mr Cook, a 6-year-old Yorkshireman feet 7 inches, told The Indepe ndent that he didn't feel like a victim after a drunken Mr Pincher made a sexual pass at him because he is physically taller than the MP for Tamworth. However, when he heard further reports of Mr Pincher's behavior last week, he realized he had been subjected to similar abuse.

"If I hadn't thought that way and behaved that way in 2006, would others have been spared?" he said. "It's my real guilt. It's not what happened to me that worries me, it's if I saw it for what it was in 2006 rather than laughing it off because I could, would others have been spared?"
