Chrissy Teigen responds to attacks online after revealing abortion: 'I've seen you do the worst'

Chrissy Teigen expected vicious attacks online after announcing she had done abort to save her life two years ago — and had a message for the trolls: "I've seen you do the worst."

The model, TV personality and influencer revealed on Thursday that the loss of her unborn son in September 2020 with husband John Legend had ended in abortion; she previously said the pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Teigen said she was speaking out after the Supreme Court overturned this summer Roe v. Wade, which eliminated the constitutional right to abortion and prompted a number of states to drastically curtail abortion rights.

In a tweet on Friday, Teigen posted screenshots of hateful comments directed at him and wrote, "I knew it would happen, and honestly, I've seen you do your best, so if that makes you feel better, great. It doesn't make me feel worse."

Comments attacking Teigen included "Sorry you lost your child, but stop telling that story" ; "Somebody's trying to stay relevant, I can see that"; and "She was drunk when she made that decision."

Teigen added, "It's not like daily mail or anything like that. C is the thread of comments from the glamorous magazine! Brutal."

Earlier Friday, Teigen tweeted, "I told y'all we had a miscarriage because I thought that was what it was. But it was an abortion, and we were both sorry and grateful. It just took me over a year to realize that,” she tweeted on Friday.

Teigen spoke at an event Thursday about the loss of her child in 2020, saying: "Let's just call it what it was: it was an abortion," according to THR. It was a "life-saving abortion for a baby who had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I don't never, ever put this together until, in fact, a few months ago. Teigen and Legend have two kids, Luna and Miles, and in an August 3 Instagram post, she announced she was pregnant.< /p>

Teigen has a huge social media presence, with over 39 million Instagram followers and counting 13 million on Twitter. In March 2021, she deleted her Twitter account - citing relentless troll attacks - before reactivating it less than a month later, writing, "I choose to take the bad with the good!"

Teigen herself was accused of online bullying in a series of cruel tweets in 2011 that she directed at model and TV personality Courtney Stodden, who was a teenager at the time. Teigen later apologized and admitted, "I was a troll, period."

Teigen's Season 3 of "Chrissy's Court," his improvised "Judge-style" small claims court Judy" series premieres October 21 for free on the Roku Channel. The show stars his mother, Pepper Thai, as the "bailiff" who keeps order in court.
