Christine Chiu embraced 2000s glamor at the Tom Ford Show

Christine Chiu—star and producer of Netflix's Bling Empire, figurehead and beloved couture connoisseur—is no stranger to sequins and glamorous fashion week. In fact, she thrives there. Example: his very busy and chic trip to New York last week. In town for the start of the S/S 23 shows, Chiu came equipped with a packed schedule and an arsenal of photo-worthy looks for every occasion, including a stunning royal purple Saint Laurent number for the show # VogueWorld and an archival sculpture Mugler velvet mini dress for the Fashion Media Awards (two of our favorites).

To top off a fantastic fashion-filled week, Chiu attended the Tom Ford show, and with the help of stylist Micaela Erlanger and her glam team, makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez and hairstylist Henry De La Paz, created the perfect final moment. Dressed in a sultry leather bra top paired with perfect lime green pants and accented with chunky gold jewelry and the designer's signature eyewear, Chiu was the epitome of early 2000s glam. Who What Wear a got an exclusive sneak peek at how her look came together and caught up with Chiu after the event to talk about the set and her favorite NYFW moments.

Tell us about the look you chose for the Tom Ford show. What about this look that immediately caught your eye?

My look for Tom Ford was selected by Elizabeth Saltzman (probably on behalf of Tom) and styled by Micaela Erlanger. I was both flattered and shocked that they trusted me to pull off a leather bra! But you really can't go wrong wearing Tom Ford. Although this season's look was a big departure from what I would normally choose for myself, it turned out to be my favorite look of the week! A buttery leather bralette was paired with silky soft lime green cargo pants and complemented by Tom's signature eyewear. When you're in Tom Ford, you instantly feel and look fabulous.

What do you like about Tom Ford's approach to design?

Tom is the epitome of chic, and it spills over into all of his creations. I love that he knows and respects a woman's body in a way that best accentuates the right curves and the right bits. It is both bold and playful, sensual and strong, polished and fun, luxurious and delicate. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none, and the understated richness of each piece is a perpetual tease. I jokingly told the TF crew that if I was ever stranded on an island and could only wear one designer for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Tom Ford, because I'm also incredibly comfortable in every room!
