Coldplay and their former manager have filed competing claims at the High Court in London, with each side claiming millions of pounds from the other.

Dave Holmes, who worked with the group from 2005 to 2022, sued them in August for £10 million in unpaid commission.

In a counterclaim, the band rejected his claim and said Holmes had allowed touring costs to spiral out of control and demanded £14 million in damages.

The case could go to court if the parties fail to reach a settlement.

Holmes' original lawsuit claimed that Coldplay owed a commission for two still unreleased albums.

According to their lawyers, the band received an advance of £35 million for their 10th album and £30 million for their 11th and 12th albums .

Holmes maintains that he helped organize the recording sessions, clear samples and liaise with producer Max Martin before the band decides not to renew his contract last year.

He asks the High Court to declare valid a contract relating to the tenth and eleventh albums and 'order payment.
