The bartender at the Colorado gay nightclub where five people were slaughtered by a rampaging gunman last night has shared the terror he felt as the suspect prowled the dance floor - gunning down friends and family. party people with a gun.

Five people are now dead and 18 others injured after an unknown man stormed Club Q - one of the few LGBTQ+ venues in Colorado Springs - and killed them at an event on Saturday night.< /p>

Club Q - where the incident occurred - advertises itself as an "adult gay and lesbian nightclub offering themed nights such as karaoke, drag shows and DJs".

The attack took place on Transgender Remembrance Day; an annual date to remember trans people lost to transphobic violence.

Police provided little additional information other than the grim death toll, but a press conference was scheduled for around 8:00 a.m. local time (1500 GMT) later in the day.

Michael Anderson, 25, who was working at the bar when the shooter carried out the savage attack, spoke exclusively to The Mirror about the terror he felt when the suspect began to withdraw his cartridges.
