Dakota Johnson arrested by PETA after Gucci handbag campaign

Dakota Johnson has a new ad campaign with Gucci – where she wears a ton of items, including animal skin handbags – and PETA isn't happy about it...not at all.

The actress has just come out as an official ambassador for the luxury fashion brand and appeared in a new ad where she shows off a ton of their products - and, of course, there's many photo shoots where DJ is all over Gucci. So she's all in.

The problem, according to PETA, is that a few of these Gucci handbags advertised here by Dakota are made with genuine reptile skins...specifically, python and crocodile. Gucci isn't hiding it either, as its website touts that the skins are the real deal.

That doesn't square with the animal rights organization — and it got Dakota all told in an informative, if somewhat scathing letter to her team.

In the correspondence, obtained by TMZ, PETA takes issue with the fact that Gucci's python and crocodile handbags - ranging in price from $3,100 to $31,000 - are so brazenly flaunted by Dakota...which they claim to be strange, since she is outspoken on a lot of social issues.

They're right, her IG is full of advocacy posts for everything from BLM to women's rights and more.
