David Gandy takes wellness to Selfridges
LONDON — David of all trades.
Model and entrepreneur David Gandy takes his Wellwear brand from direct-to-consumer to the masses by teaming up with its first retailer: Selfridges.
"When I was young I always rode to London with my mother and grandmother to seeing the Christmas lights and doing Christmas shopping. Selfridges was always a highlight of the day; it seemed such a magical place,” Gandy told WWD, recalling his earliest memory of the store.
Wellwear was launched in September 2021 with the aim of creating eco-friendly basics in solid colors - no frills, just comfortable clothes that appeal to Gandy outside of his professional life.

"I've always loved how [despite being built by an American] Selfridges is a iconic British institution that is constantly evolving with the times,” said Gandy.
"This is one of the most forward-thinking department stores in the UK, with an impressive reach outside of the London bubble, which I think is so important that brands can often overlook,” he added.
