Actors with disabilities are cast too often to play roles The able-bodied people who control the creative industries look great, says an artist.
Ruth Fabby said actors with visible disabilities were often limited to playing stereotypes.
She said those with hidden disabilities were excluded in favor of those with more obvious disabilities.
"I had friends who were told they didn't look blind enough to play a blind role," she said.
"D 'other people said 'we want someone with learning disabilities, but we want them to have Down syndrome because it's more obvious'."
