Disney Explorers and Adventurers Society Recruits Qui Nguyen and Ryan Reynolds

So who are these guys, and why should we care if they get a movie? They are a group of explorers and adventurers who have ties to multiple Disney properties and rides. For example, rides like the Jungle Cruise and the great Thunder Mountain Railroad were reportedly started by members of SEA, and their members met Indiana Jones and Howard Stark. Seriously, there is a lot to say about this band.

While only mentioned in passing in the US Disney parks, SEA has a stronger presence in Asia. The group's first official appearance was in the walkthrough attraction Fortress Explorations at Tokyo DisneySea, with Imagineers rewriting the stories of other attractions around the world to include them. However, his most well-known appearance is in the dark ride Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland.

According to THR, the original mythologies established in the parks will be recognized in Nguyen's storyline. However, it will also move away from what hardcore fans know by setting it in the present and adding supernatural elements. It's unclear what this means, but either way, it's a concept definitely worth exploring.

The untitled Society of Explorers and Adventurers movie hasn't even been officially announced yet, but you can see Nguyen's "Strange World" in theaters on November 23.
