Drew Barrymore is moved to forgive himself in this exclusive preview of "The Shop"

Ahead of this week's episode of "The Shop" of Uninterrupted, an exclusive sneak peek featuring Drew Barrymore shows the actor getting emotional when the topic of forgiveness comes up.

"How do you forgive yourself? These are such important and overriding issues in life and it can take so long sometimes, you just think you'll never get there."

The episode - which also features Idris Elba, Kyrie Irving and Paul Rabil - touches on everything from hitting "bottom" to Elba's opinion on the debate about British actors playing American roles. In the clip above, Barrymore's tale of the power of forgiving herself almost brings her to tears. "It was, for me, the last thing in my life," she said. "It's only recently that I've forgiven myself. But I'm here, it took me so long to get there."

"I fought for everything," she continues. "I had to be my own parent and, my God, I... I'm so hard on myself. Ridiculously, painfully, miserably, unbearably hard on myself. But I'm finally on the other side of that and I'm just so happy to be here because it's those things; being okay with yourself and not competing with others; realizing you're your own unique snowflake, and how to embrace it how to forgive yourself - these are such important and overriding issues in life and it can take so long sometimes, you just think you'll never get there."

Barrymore notes that while "forgiveness for others has always been available to me," it hasn't always been the case for her. "But, lately, I've really made incredible breakthroughs and it feels so good," she adds. The talk show host has been candid about her past, including her difficult childhood and sobriety, and she continues her journey of healing.

The sixth episode of "The Shop" Season 5 will premiere exclusively on the Uninterrupted YouTube channel on September 2. Watch the full preview above.
