The easyJet flight cuts 19 passengers returning to Britain from Lanzarote because the plane was TOO HEAVY The flight was due to take off at 9.45pm on Wednesday but left around 11.30pmPilot says poor weather conditions were also a factor

An easyJet flight has removed 19 passengers from Lanzarote for Britain because the plane was 'too heavy to take off''.

The flight from Lanzarote Arrecife Airport to Liverpool John Lennon Airport was delayed due to the weight of the plane and the bad weather conditions.

The plane was supposed to take off at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday but only took off from the Spanish airport around 11:30 p.m.

In a video filmed by a passenger, the pilot said: "Thank you all for coming here today. Because you are so many, it's quite a heavy aircraft.

'This heavy aircraft combined with a fairly short runway and the current adverse conditions here in Lanzarote, means that the plane is too heavy to take off.I met my senior first officer and we have a lot of experience in this area and we have done it before.

In the video, passengers can be heard saying in a low voice 'I want to go home tonight' and shaking my head
