England and Dortmund stars see Bellingham as a teenager with the world at his feet

Jude Bellingham can take the World Cup by storm thanks to his "incredible" talent, according to England team-mate Luke Shaw and Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

At the age of 19, Bellingham could be given a prized England midfield spot in Gareth Southgate's starting XI in the Qatar final.

The teenager's development at Dortmund has been so great that he was given the chance to captain the team last month when Marco Reus and Mats Hummels were unavailable.

Having started his career at Birmingham City, Bellingham has built on his early promise in Germany, where he is blossoming in his third season.

Left-back Shaw, who scored for England in the European Championship final last year, has seen young players come and go during his England career.

"The one who surprised me the most when he first got involved was Jude," Shaw said. "He's obviously still so young now, but the talent he has is amazing.

"He can do everything in this environment. He can drive the ball, he can pass, he is aggressive. He has everything. When I first saw him when he was first involved time in the England team, even then I thought, 'Wow, this guy is going to be so good, and he already looks like a man'.

"Over the past two years, being here on the team with him, he's always had talent, but he's starting to develop and gain experience.

"He becomes more of a man, when you look at him and his strength. He's captain of his club and I think it shows, the steps he's taking are leading him in the right direction."

Shaw, who plays for his football club Manchester United, told England's Lions' Den program that he sees Bellingham playing an important role for England in many upcoming tournaments.

"He will play a very important role in this England team for the success we will have in the years to come," Shaw added.

England begin their campaign against Iran on Monday, before facing further Group B matches against the United States and Wales.

Bellingham team-mate Kobel also sees the youngster as having the potential to be a resounding success for England in the coming month.

Asked if Bellingham could be one of the stars of this World Cup, Kobel replied: "For sure, he's an incredible talent. He has so much quality and I think his spirit is also very strong.

"He always wants to improve, always wants to win the game, and even now, at his young age, he can have a lot of impact everywhere."
