England control warm-up game against Lions despite Hameed ton

Lions flyhalf Hameed scored 145 of 172 balls and shared a stand first wicket of 179 with Tom Haines, who made 82.

The Spinners Jack Leach, Liam Livingstone and Will Jacks took two wickets apiece as the Lions posted 412 -9, 89 runs behind.

England amassed 501 in just 79 overs on opening day. Substitute captain Ollie Pope scored 146, Zac Crawley 96 and the Jacks 84.

And the batters continued to dominate on day two, when Hameed and Haines cashed in on flat ground with short limits to the tolerance ring, against an English attack that included James Anderson and Ollie Robinson.

Anderson claimed the key dismissal of Hameed, trapping him lbw for his only wicket in a 12 over period for 55 runs.

But the spinners regained control for England, although Rehan Ahmed, l 18-year-old stage-spinner who was called up for the Pakistan test tour, provided an entertaining 26 out of 10 appearance.

Jofra Archer, who played for England for the first time in 16 months on day one, finished the day unbeaten with 39 balls from 15, including three sixes.
