Ethereum TPS boost? Starknet “Quantum Leap” is live

StarkWare co-founder and CEO Uri Kolodny says Starknet's latest Quantum Leap update makes high TPS a reality on the Ethereum mainnet.

The highly anticipated Quantum Leap upgrade to the Starknet layer 2 scaling protocol was recently deployed on the Ethereum mainnet, enabling up to 90 transactions per second (TPS), increasing speed of the network.

In an announcement sent to Cointelegraph, Uri Kolodny, co-founder and CEO of StarkWare, said it was a momentous day for the Ethereum blockchain as the scaling cap was “broken” . He explained that "high TPS is finally a reality on the Ethereum mainnet" because of the new update, adding:

"We said this upgrade would deliver hundreds of potential TPS in Q3, and we were only hoping that the stress test would verify that we were on the right track. A few dozen TPS at this early stage would have excited us, but we got more than we bargained for."

Kolodny also pointed out that he managed to achieve a consistent 37 TPS. In addition, the exec also noted that during its peak times, testing showed transfer transactions per second to almost 100.
