Public Image Ltd - the band formed by John Lydon after the Sex Pistols split in 1978 - is in the running to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The song, titled Hawaii, is described as "a love letter to Lydon's wife of nearly five decades who lives with Alzheimer's disease."
Irish broadcaster RTÉ has announced that the group will compete with five other artists for the title in a TV show next month.
This year's Eurovision is in Liverpool in May.
Hawaii "is dedicated to all who go through difficult times on life's journey," Lydon said. "It's also a message of hope that in the end, love conquers all."
The current line-up of Public Image Ltd consists of John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith.
