John Steinback's classic novel "East of Eden" is getting a new screen adaptation now that Netflix has secured the rights to develop the book as a series, and the project is set to already exciting announcement.

Zoe Kazan is set to write the script for the series, with Florence Pugh joining the project in a lead role and joining the creative team as co-producer. The popular source material, originally released in 1952, has already been adapted for the screen twice - first, the James Dean-directed 1955 feature with Zoe's grandfather, Elia Kazan, at the helm, then the 1981 ABC miniseries.
