Fantastic Four: Adam Driver would be the favorite for the lead role

Adam Driver may be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon, as a recent report notes that Driver is a favorite to star in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four.

The report from The Direct mentions that as development on the highly anticipated Fantastic Four film continues to kick off, the search for who Reed Richards will play intensifies. Many actors have been mooted for the project, according to The Direct, but recent reports seem to suggest that Driver is in the lead to land the gig.

This isn't the first suggestion that Driver is fit for the role. First, insider Jeff Sneider shared information during The Hot Mic podcast that Driver is in the lead to play the role, a report Sneider said he couldn't verify but made sense for. him. Elsewhere, Beyond the Trailer's Grace Rudolph also teased that Driver might be "a favorite for a certain stretch role." Finally, The Direct's own sources in their report note that Driver is "Marvel Studios' top casting choice to play the new Reed Richards," though those reports are all impossible to definitively confirm or deny at this time. /p>

Along with the Reed Richards rumors, other reports have mentioned that Elvis star Austin Butler has been tipped to play the role of Johnny Storm, otherwise known as The Human Torch.

The film's official cast has yet to be announced, but The Office alum John Krasinski recently made his debut as a variant of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel's Fantastic Four comic book series, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1961 and was the first superhero team-up title produced by Marvel Comics.

The film is set to debut in MCU Phase 6 on February 14, 2025.
