President Biden will shake hands with Chuck Schumer twice

US President Joe Biden sparked further health fears as he appeared to be trying to shake hands with a senator seconds after the couple had already done so.

The 79-year-old was attending the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act signing ceremony outside the White House

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer first shook hands with the leader of the Free World, before turning to the other attendees, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

But as Chuck greeted everyone warmly, President Biden seemed confused as he reached out for a second handshake for several seconds.

When he didn't appear, he instead stroked his chin, apparently thinking he had been ignored by Schumer as he began to address the crowd.

Making fun of the President on Twitter, Steve Guest, Special Communications Advisor to Republican Senator Ted Cruz, said, "It only takes 5 seconds for Joe Biden to forget he shook hands with Chuck Schumer.< /p>

"Scary."

Responding, a follower said, "Shot. Completely shot.

"Every day a new embarrassment. Why they hide it as much as possible with daily eyelids, covid returns on days at the beach."

Another replied, "How much more do we need to see before someone takes this seriously...both for the country and for the president himself."
