FIFA chief refuses to answer question about World Cup worker's death - 'Sorry, goodbye'

FIFA has now confirmed the tragic incident in a statement on Thursday morning which read: "FIFA is deeply saddened by this tragedy and our thoughts and sympathy go out to the family of the worker.

“As soon as FIFA was informed of the accident, we contacted the local authorities to request further details. FIFA will be able to comment further once the relevant processes relating to the death of the worker have been completed. ."< /p>

However, The Athletic reports that in a statement referring to the death, the Qatari government only described Alex's death as an "incident".
