Florence Pugh hits back at 'vulgar' criticism of her body on social media

Florence Pugh has hit back at 'vulgar' social media users who have criticized her body, after posting photos of her wearing a sheer dress at a fashion show.

"What happened to you that made you so happy to be so loudly upset about the size of my breasts and my body?" Pugh said in an Instagram post on Sunday to his 7.4 million followers.

The actor, who starred in Black Widow and Midsommar, wore a pink dress designed by Valentino's creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli at one of the brand's Friday shows in Rome.

"I was thrilled to wear it, not a wink wasn't nervous. I was not before, during or even now after," she wrote.

Instagram has a policy that prohibits images of women's nipples but no men, leading the star to write on Saturday that "[t]echnically they're covered?" before urging society to "free that fucking nipple".

Pugh, 26, wrote that she anticipated a backlash to the photos of her in a dress, but found it "interesting to watch...how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman's body. a woman, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see."

She continued, "It's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last time a woman will hear what's wrong with her body from a crowd of strangers, what's worrying is how vulgar some of you can be."

Pugh said that despite criticism Others, she had come to terms with "the intricacies of my body that make me, me" and was now "happy with all the 'flaws' I couldn't bear to look at when I was 14".
