For the love of Resale's puns, Doen's "Hand Me Dōen" is a new contender

Los Angeles, Calif.-based earth brand Dôen dives into used clothing with a launch of resale.

Called "Hand Me Dôen", the program - which started on Thursday - simplifies online resale format user-friendly portal for its client who appreciates the clean simplicity and transparency of the brand. The news continues to build momentum for the brand, which opened its second store earlier this year and hired an impact manager last year.

Ease of use comes from its digital background. Items are priced individually on Doen.treet.co through the brand's Hand Me Dôen portal (powered by resale service provider Treet) which automatically estimates the buyback payment so customers can see before they sell, then follow progress under "Your Submitted Items".

For this reason, Hand Me Dôen presents itself as the easiest method for its customers, allowing them to select items from their order history for exchange or write a simple description (such as "white dress") without managing the list. Once they select their item, Doen immediately quotes value, sends a prepaid label, and gives an applicable digital gift card so customers can purchase new or pre-loved Doen – all without waiting for the item sells. Customers earn trade-in credits worth 50% of resale price.

While the program is limited to items in "excellent" condition and like-new, anything that does not is not accepted for resale is kept at the discretion of the customer for reuse locally according to the brand.

"As this is part of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact, we do not wish to receive any items that cannot be resold because it creates unnecessary GHG emissions from transporting the items," Dôen detailed in a forum of frequently asked customer questions. "If an item is rejected, we don't have the intend to resell it, but instead remain committed to our environmental responsibilities by reusing the garment through transparent national opportunities such as remanufacture/reuse. Items will never be exported overseas, incinerated or sent to landfill. »
