An Alabama dog breeder was stunned when his French Bulldog gave birth to a bright green puppy.

Business owner Mark Ruffin was 'blown away' after the mother gave birth to two puppies early in her home.

The pooch, named Freya, was due for a C-section but managed to deliver her two babies on her own.

Freya also had another puppy who unfortunately died after giving birth, reports the Daily Star.

Mark rushed Freya to the veterinary hospital where she then welcomed other additions, leaving with a litter of eight.

At first Mark thought the green pup just needed cleaning up, but as the days passed he noticed the color was still strong.

He said, "When I first saw the dog, I thought he was dirty because that's what the doctor said, she didn't even know what it was. was. I came home and cleaned it about four times that night and let mom clean it and it never went away."

Mark said that the "whole situation was weird", and considers calling the green puppy Chloe.
