Trailer for the French black comedy film about butchers 'Certains l'aime rare'

Some Like It Rare Trailer

"It's So Delicious, Is It Really Pork?" Brainstorm Media has revealed an official US trailer for an indie dark comedy horror film from France titled Some like it rare , although the French title is much funnier: Barbaque. This premiered at genre festivals last year and is finally getting a theatrical release at Alamo Drafthouse in October before landing on VOD. When a struggling butcher accidentally kills a vegan activist, he uses his skills to dispose of the body... much to the delight of his distraught customers. After 30 years of marriage, their marital bed is as alive as the sausages on the counter. Love, business - nothing works. Until they discover a new kind of meat they can offer… Yet another cannibalism movie this year besides Fresh and Bones and All, oh boy. With Fabrice Éboué, Marina Foïs, Jean-François Cayrey, Lisa Do Couto Texeira, Victor Meutelet, Stéphane Soo Mongo, Virginie Hocq and Christophe Hondelatte. It looks like a goofy comedy that only the French could serve, shedding light on the murder of people to keep a butcher shop going. What a strange premise. But hey, that's cinema, isn't it? OK ! ?

Butchers Vincent and Sophie's business is sinking and their relationship is on the rocks. But their lives are forever turned upside down when Vincent accidentally kills a vegan activist who is vandalizing their store. To get rid of the corpse, he cuts the body's throat and Sophie accidentally sells the meat. Never has their product been so successful with their customers that they might be tempted to kill again… Some Like It Rare, originally known as name of Barbaque , is directed by French actor/filmmaker Fabrice Eboué, director of the film Coexister, and co-director of the films Case Départ and The Crocodile of Botswanga, previously. The screenplay is written by Fabrice Eboué and Vincent Solignac. It is produced by David Gauquié and Julien Deris of Studios Cinéfrance. This was originally premiered at the L'Étrange 2021 Festival in France last year. Brainstorm Media will open Eboué's Some Like It Rare exclusively in Alamo Drafthouse theaters (NY and LA) on October 7, 2022, then on VOD starting October 14 this fall. Who would like to try some?
