Fulham and Burnley go all-in with SBOTOP and W88 ahead of gambling ad ban

June 28 - Premier League clubs are taking full advantage of the time lag between next season and the imposition of a ban on shirt sponsorship by betting operators from the start of the 2026/27 season.

Earlier this month, Aston Villa announced a two-season shirt sponsorship with BK8. Fulham and Burnley have now signed one-year deals with SBOTOP and W88 respectively.

For the 2022/23 season, Fulham have announced a record sponsorship deal with W88 for their shirt. That record has been broken again with the new SBOTOP deal, the club said. Meanwhile, W88, who had previous shirt deals with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, have taken up the shirt position for newly-promoted Burnley.

Bill Mummery, CEO of SBOTOP, said, "We are thrilled and excited to bring our two Premier Brands together. Together, we look forward to growing awareness of our two brands on a truly global platform at over the next few seasons."

Mummery's comment indicates that this will be a multi-season deal and although no sponsorship value has been given, it is believed to be around £10m.

The W88 logo will be worn by the first men's and women's teams at Burnley. W88 will also receive advertising inventory on Turf Moor on matchdays and through the club's digital channels.

W88 is committed to working on community projects and initiatives, including the club's charitable activities.

Burnley manager Stuart Hunt said: "After lengthy discussions, we are delighted to confirm that W88 will be our front shirt sponsor for the coming season. As a newly promoted club, a partnership like this plays an important role in helping us compete in the Premier League."

No value has been given for the deal, although industry sources say it does not exceed £8m.
