Full trailer for Heineman's 'retrograde' documentary film on Afghanistan

Retrograde Doc Trailer

"Our country is all we have." Oh, that's hard to watch. National Geographic has released an official trailer for the intense documentary Retrograde, the latest documentary from award-winning filmmaker Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land, City of Ghosts > >, The First Wave). This premiered at the 2022 Telluride Film Festival and it will open in theaters from November before landing on Disney+ in December. The film deals with one of the most heartbreaking subjects of 2021 - it captures the final nine months of America's 20-year war in Afghanistan from multiple angles. Focusing on the intimate relationship between American Green Berets and the Afghan officers they trained. From the Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning director, Retrograde offers a cinematic and historical window into the end of America's longest war and the costs borne by many involved. "An unshakable and masterful document of the complications and consequences of war." Looks like Heineman's best movies since Cartel Land. I'm nervous watching this, but I think it's vitally important to the story. It's also one of the best trailers for ANY movie this year.
