Full Trailer For Japanese Epic "Godzilla Minus One" Roaring This Fall

"In post-war Japan, a new terror rises: Godzilla. Will the devastated people be able to survive...let alone fight back?" This left !! The big old monster is back for even more mayhem. Toho in Japan has unveiled an epic new trailer for Godzilla Minus One (aka Godzilla -1.0) and it looks awesome. It's sort of a sequel to Hideaki Anno's Shin Godzilla (from 2016), while also being an original creation telling a whole new story. Prolific Japanese filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki (Lupin III: The First series, Stand by Me Doraemon) is directing the new film, which will be the 30th live-action film in the own Kaiju from Toho. franchise. It was filmed under the working title Blockbuster Monster Movie (超大作怪獣映画), co-produced by Robot Communications and Toho Studios. The concept is that it takes place in post-war Japan, which puts the country at "0.0", and then Godzilla appears, pushing them even further into "-1.0". There are some stunning shots and the action looks amazing, including a massive nuclear explosion. Bring it! I'll be at the cinema to see this, that's for sure.

"Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus 1 will once again show us a Godzilla who is a terrifying and overwhelming force, which you already get an idea from the trailer and the 'poster," Koji Ueda, president of Toho International, said in a statement. "The concept is that Japan, which had already been devastated by war, faces a new threat with Godzilla, placing the country in the 'minus'." Godzilla Minus One , also known as ゴジラ-1.0 or Gojira Mainasu Wan in Japanese, is both written and directed by Japanese producer/filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki, director of numerous films including Space Battleship Yamato, The Fighter Pilot, Stand by Me Doraemon, Parasyte: Part 1 & 2, Destiny: The Tale of Kamakura, Lupine III: The First, Dragon Quest: Your Story and Ghost Book previously. Yamazaki is also working on the film's VFX. Filming began in mid-March 2022, took place in Kantō, and wrapped in mid-June. Toho will debut Godzilla Minus One in Japanese theaters from November 3, 2023 this fall. It will also hit theaters in the United States from December 1, 2023 later this year.
