Gabriel Luna Could Walk For Blocks And Still Be On The Set Of HBO's The Last Of Us

/The Movie's Ben Pearson sat in on a panel interview for "The Last of Us" in which Luna revealed her experience walking the very large set as a fan of the original game:

"[While playing] Ghost Rider, obviously [I had] dots all over my face, a motorcycle fairing with lights on it, just lots of green screens. ['Terminator: Dark Fate'], definitely a lot of green. I just live in a world of pure imagination. And 'The Last of Us', to my delight, was real, was there, was complete at 360 sets. I I could walk for blocks and still be on our set. I was able to see and touch things that I saw in the game. Details that... I'm the kind of person who... is very exploratory when I experience these games. I mean, you can walk up to a wall and just stand there and watch the texture and decay of the wood or the colors of the mushroom. That's me."

While visual effects are used to bring the larger scale elements (collapsed buildings, cities, etc.) to life, it's very exciting to hear that actual sets have been used to fill in the immediate world. As a fan of the source material, examining the finer details on a journey through Boston and across the United States is an experience like no other. Truth be told, "The Last of Us" is at its best when it's able to transport us to an alternate reality through the surrounding environment.
