GameStop Launches NFT Marketplace Public Beta

American retailer of video games, consumer electronics and gaming products GameStop has launched its NFT marketplace allowing gamers, creators, collectors and others to buy, sell and trade NFTs.

Gaming giant GameStop (GME) launched its own non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace on July 11. The new NFT marketplace intends to offer low fees and high speeds.

Market users can buy, sell, trade and create NFTs. The marketplace has features for users to view NFT statistics, and educational materials are also provided. The educational content includes everything from NFT basics to how to connect a wallet to the market.

It is a noncustodial application based on Ethereum Layer 2, and users can connect to the market using the GameStop wallet or other Ethereum (ETH) compatible wallets. Cointelegraph reported in May on the GameStop wallet and plans for the new NFT marketplace.

The marketplace displays NFTs and NFT creators and collections on the main app screen. Further market analysis is also possible via the Explore interface. There are currently 236 NFT collections on the market.

Several Web3 games are coming to market through Immutable X, including Illuvium, Gods Unchained, and Guild of Guardians. GameStop partnered with Immutable X in February.

This is a public beta version of the app, and users should expect some outages until the full market version is released.
