Sir Gavin Williamson told ex-Chief Whip 'you fuck us all over the place' in angry texts after being left out of Queen's funeral

< p>The Cabinet Minister faces an investigation into a series of abusive and threatening messages sent to the then Conservative Chief Whip complaining that he was not invited to the royal funeral.

Sir Gavin , who was a backbench MP at the time, accused Wendy Morton of using the monarch's death to "punish" senior MPs who were not in favor of Liz Truss' government.

< p>The exchange of messages, obtained by The Sunday Times, concluded with him saying: "Well let's see how many times you fuck us all over. There's a price for everything ."

The newspaper said then-party chairman Sir Jake Berry told Prime Minister Rishi Sunak the day before he entered No 10 that Ms Morton had lodged a formal complaint to the party. on Sir Gavin's conduct.

Sir Jake and Ms Morton lost their jobs in the subsequent reshuffle, while Sir Gavin - a former chief whip and supporter of Mr Sunak - returned in government.
