"The contribution he made to the stabilization of the club and "The progression of our teams has been essential and I know that, as a Yorkshireman who lives and breathes this club, he has been very proud to take on this role," said chief executive Stephen Vaughan.

"The work Darren has done over the past two seasons has built a fantastic foundation and we are very grateful for his time, his commitment and the way in which he carried out his role."

Gough added: "We have achieved a lot things I'm proud of. The men's team has been completely rebuilt with significant behind-the-scenes improvements across all support areas.

" This has put the men's team and the Northern Diamonds in a much better place to compete in the future.

"The performance pathway is booming and continues to lead the way nationally. There is a real energy around what is happening in women's football and the next few years will be transformational, I'm sure."

Yorkshire begin their 2024 Championship season on April 5 at home to Leicestershire in Division Two.
