Graeme Souness breaks down in tears as interview is cut short during tribute to Gianluca Vialli

But after speaking for more than eight minutes, Souness was overwhelmed with emotion. Discussing Vialli's battle with cancer, he said, "It was his battle, he wanted to deal with it himself, he didn't want to impose it on others...sorry."

The pundit then broke down in tears before presenter Hayley McQueen intervened to stop the interview and thank Souness for her words. McQueen said: "Graeme, we'll leave it at that, I'm so sorry for you to lose your old teammate and your friend.

"We are very grateful to you, I'm sure those watching will be very grateful that you managed to share such heartfelt memories of Gianluca Vialli."
