Initial reports suggested a young boy had been treated for minor injuries - but he has since emerged fighting for his life at Alicante General Hospital, Informacion reports.

The extent of his injuries has not been made public.

The boy is said to have traveled on the scooter, but it is unclear if he managed to jump before falling overboard.

The speed at which they were traveling down the slope is being analyzed, as well as whether the scooter - which would have been rented - met legal safety requirements.
