Gustaf Westman's creations attract crowds for his Los Angeles pop-up store

A crowd lined up in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles to buy designer Gustaf Westman's curvy, chunky and bold objects.

Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles' multi-hyphenate creatives found a new reason to wait in line on Sunset Boulevard. Instead of sipping natural wine in front of El Prado or waiting hours for a seat at Palais Pijja, they showed up at designer Gustaf Westman's pop-up boutique.

“I love Gustaf in general,” said Billie Black, 27, a digital creator who took first place. “I have my eye on the big cup. I also want the spiral magazine rack. »

Mr. Westman, 30, started selling furniture and objects online in 2020 and quickly built a following on TikTok and Instagram. Its curved, chunky mirrors have become coveted decor, and its tableware has become the standard for the Internet's "it" girls. Its items range from large mugs ($68) and large plates ($58) to mini curved tables ($750), mini flower mirrors ($2,200), pipe chairs ($1,150) and blob sofas ( $3,360).

Nara Smith, a popular model and food influencer, often uses her plates to showcase her intricate homemade dishes, and the Swedes Influencer Matilda Djerf drinks her coffee from Mr. Westman's big mugs. He created a mirror for Swedish rapper Yung Lean and a custom side table for YouTube darling Emma Chamberlain.
