Gwyneth Paltrow: I don't miss acting but I promised my mum Blythe Danner I'd be in a 'Before I Die' play

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow hasn't been on screen since 2020's 'The Politician', and the Goop founder is fine to leave it that way.

Paltrow admitted in an excerpt from this week's show, which aired on July 24, that she doesn't feel the need to start playing again anytime soon. "I really don't miss it at all," Paltrow told host Willie Geist. "I think I'm so lucky to have been able to do it, and I'm sure I will do it again, at some point."

She added, "The team is always trying to get me to do a movie, but I really love what I'm doing. And I love how immediate it is, and how, you know, we're able to create a product from scratch that we believe in so much."

And Paltrow's next acting gig may not be a movie or TV role at all. The 'Royal Tenenbaums' alum continued, "I don't dream of movies at all, but...I promised my mum that at some point before I died I told her I would go and play a room. So I'm going to keep that promise at some point."

Paltrow previously told People that she would be considering more Marvel cameos in 2021. "I think if it was a small part that I could do in a day or two, of course I would be open to it," the "Iron Man," the star said.

However, Paltrow sadly told director Jon Favreau that she had no recollection of being in "Spider-Man" at all. "No, I wasn't in 'Spider-Man'," Paltrow said during Netflix docuseries "The Chef Show" in 2019. "I was in 'Avengers'!"

The 'Shakespeare in Love' actress also admitted that she doesn't like watching herself on screen in general.

“I really hate, I hate seeing myself in a movie,” Paltrow said, before sharing that she can only watch one particular scene from “The Royal Tenenbaums” where her character exits a bus. "It's kind of the only scene I can watch on my own, like in my entire career."

Reflecting on his entire career, Paltrow told 'Good Morning America' in 2020, "I was like, 'Well, now who am I supposed to be?' directing me?
