Harry Dunn's killer refuses to answer why she didn't come to the UK as she gets out of sentence

Harry Dunn's killer is pictured moments after she was spared jail time for a horrific crash that left the teenage motorcyclist pleading: 'Please don't let me die. "

US citizen Anne Sacoolas has refused to say why she has not returned to the UK to appear in person in court, where she was today given a suspended eight-month prison sentence for causing the death of Harry by reckless driving, appearing at the Old Bailey by video link.

The 48-year-old admitted to killing the 19-year-old while driving a Volvo near a US military base in August 2019.

The mother-of-three drove her Volvo XC90 on the wrong side of the road for 350 yards before crashing into Harry's bike outside RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire.

After her conviction, Sacoolas left the law offices of Franklin Court in Washington DC from where she appeared.

She had previously been driven to an underground car park to avoid being seen by her husband, Jonathan, who had been to the scene of Harry's accident. When she left, it was her spy husband who took the wheel.

When approached by The Mirror to ask if she had any comment or to add an additional apology to Harry's family, Sacoolas declined.

We also asked, "Why did you refuse to return to the UK to appear in court in person?"

She gaped again and refused to answer.

It came after London's Old Bailey heard heartbreaking details of Harry's final moments in which he begged not to die as his life slipped away.

His family has waged a tireless three-year campaign for justice and today Judge Cheema-Grubb said she was powerless to enforce a community sentence as long as Sacoolas remained in the United States.< /p>
