Combination of HBO Max and Discovery+: What does this mean for your favorite streaming series?

The announcement came days after Warner Media announced plans to remove "Batgirl" and "Scoob!: Holiday Haunt" from films being produced for HBO Max. This could all be part of Zaslav's effort to save $3 billion, which he pledged when WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc. merged in April, according to The Wrap.

Jean-Briac Perrette, CEO of Discovery, said he hopes the new streamer will be the best of both worlds. "We recognize that our two existing products have shortcomings," he said on the call. "HBO Max has a competitive feature set, but has had performance and customer issues. Discovery+ offers best-in-class performance and top consumer ratings, but more limited features."

The announcement comes shortly after rumors of HBO Max's complete disbandment began to swirl when the streamer secretly pulled six Warner Bros. movies. and announced that "Batgirl" would be dropped.
