Not a household name, but the historic Polish city of Wroclaw is said to offer the Europe's best (and finest) Christmas market this winter.

Direct two-hour flights to Wroclaw with Wizz and Ryanair start at under £45 £ return, while hotel rooms in the city center are readily available for less than £75 a night.

And although Poland is one of the few countries where the pound is going further than a year ago, travel experts s say Wroclaw's Christmas Market would be a world beater at any p rice.

"This is by far the most underrated festive market estimated from Europe. At Wro', they really know how to put on a show,' says David McClane, travel writer for the Man vs Globe website (manvsglobe.com).

When it opens on November 18, the main market will be held in Wroclaw's medieval square, one of the largest in Europe with a gothic red and gold old town hall in the center and a church...
