A 'perfectly healthy' woman has been diagnosed with dementia caused by a secret mold infestation in her home.

Amie Skilton, who was only 37, suddenly discovered that she couldn't even remember her own name.

She and her husband had moved into an apartment in Manly, New South Wales, Australia, in 2016, but a poor shower seal meant water was constantly leaking under the carpet.

Naturopath and nutritionist Amie, now 42, started feeling unwell two months after moving in.

It was during a hot summer, however, and the couple didn't notice how bad the leak was every time they turned on the water.
