Here are all the games still coming in 2023 | Kaser Focus

We're excited to announce the return of GamesBeat Next, hosted in San Francisco this October, where we'll explore the theme "Playing the Edge." Apply to speak here and learn more about sponsorship opportunities here. At the event, we will also announce 25 top video game startups as Game Changers 2024. Apply or apply today!

Earlier in this relatively short week, THQ Nordic announced that it was moving the Alone in the Dark reboot from October of this year to a January 2024 release. This is the third time that a game shifts its release date to avoid a mid-October release date. Even though it's been a very busy year so far, we still have a long way to go before the end of the year. Just to give an idea of what Alone in the Dark is avoiding, here are the major game releases coming in 2023:

The Crew Motorfest (September 14) Lies of P (September 19) Mortal Kombat 1 (September 19) Payday 3 (September 21) Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (September 26) EA Sports FC 24 (September 29) Disgaea 7: Wishes of the Virtueless (October 3) Assassin's Creed Mirage (October 5) Detective Pikachu Returns (October 6) Forza Motorsport (October 10) Lords of the Fallen (October 13) Sonic Superstars (October 17) Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (October 20) Super Mario Bros. Wonder (October 20) Cities: Skylines II (October 24) Alan Wake 2 (October 27) Just (October 31) Thirsty Suitors (November 2) WarioWare: Move it! (November 3) Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (November 7) Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Cleared His Name (November 9) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (November 10) Persona 5 Tactica (November 17) Super Mario RPG (November 17) Avatar: Pandora's Borders (December 7)

So yes, we still have a lot of games to go. It's perhaps no surprise that Alone in the Dark chose to retire from the year altogether.

Meanwhile, the future of E3 seems more uncertain than ever as ESA has parted ways with organizers ReedPop and will not be holding an event at the Los Angeles Convention Center anytime soon. In addition, Nintendo would have presented its console unexpectedly to developers at Gamescom, and it looks pretty good, perhaps on par with other consoles of the current generation.

On a personal level, I'll probably still be playing Starfield for the foreseeable future, if only because I need to see the breadth of what New Game Plus has to offer. Given the busy schedule in September, I'll have plenty of time to move on to a new game soon. Also, an interesting tidbit for this month: Apple Arcade will be getting a new James Bond title, Cypher 007, later this month, which could make for an interesting mobile game.
