Here are the states that encourage filming and also ban abortion

Following the recent Supreme Court Dobbs decision overturning the right to abortion established under Roe v. Wade in 1973, Hollywood creators and bean counters have a new math to consider when determining where to shoot movies and TV shows: Are they accepting tax incentives for filming in abortion-ridden states? prohibited or strictly regulated, potentially endangering the reproductive rights of women working on these productions?

The majority of US states - 36 in total - offer production incentives, but their breeding laws are everywhere. Many of them are banning abortion or imposing severe restrictions on it, and several more are set to do so in the days and weeks to come. In others, including California, the right to abortion remains in place.

As it stands, Georgia is the king of film grants, with $1.2 billion awarded last year; a six-week abortion ban is expected to come into effect soon. Louisiana ($150 million), Kentucky ($75 million), Ohio ($40 million), Oklahoma ($30 million) and Texas ($22.5 million) are other major filming states with severe restrictions on abortion.
